Content Writer

Content writer wanted for scaling, tech start-up in Sheffield

We’re looking for an awesome writer to join the team at Receptive in our main office in Sheffield, UK. We’re a tech startup making a SaaS product that we sell to software companies around the world.

We’re scaling up the team due to fast growth and demand.

We need a writer to work on a wide variety of content. As well as writing we need someone who has an analytical approach - you’ll love getting stuck into advertising campaigns, tracking metrics and you get a real thrill from generating leads from the content you produce.

You should be able to work closely with sales and marketing, creating and distributing content to fuel brand awareness and growth. You’ll need to be a great writer and any experience of ad campaigns, tracking and lead gen would also be beneficial.

You’ll have a strong, hard working, team around you. We like shipping content fast, and helping other companies learn from the content we produce. We don’t have many meetings or any project managers, and you’ll be able to see at first hand how your work has an impact on our customers and prospects every single day.

About the Role

You’ll be our first Sales Consultant and as such the world is truly your oyster. Supported by your own efforts, our lead gen team and marketing efforts, you will be responsible for presenting Receptive to Product Manager and senior decision makers at Software companies globally.

Here’s what you’ll be up to:

  • Owning the sales process and performance metrics
  • Outbound sales
  • Lead generation & research
  • Writing targeted, professional emails to prospective clients
  • Tracking progress using our CRM
  • Scheduling & delivering amazing online demos
  • Closing and negotiating deals
  • Occasional off-site prospect meetings
  • Support our marketing efforts

About You

We are looking for someone, ideally with previous experience in a startup environment or a couple of years in a sales role. You should have:

  • Evidence of target-driven sales success
  • A strong awareness of Software-as-a-Service or previous experience in the technology sector
  • Great networking skills and ability to tap into existing contacts
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Ability to absorb all of our product information and keep up-to-date with product development
  • Experience of creating sales collateral
  • Ability to track the success of sales channels and suggest new ideas for selling our product
  • Running online product demos
  • Confident, friendly and tenacious
  • Negotiation skills with C-level clients
  • Enterprise B2B sales experience
  • A Self starter mentality

We have a fantastic opportunity to join an exciting startup working on a B2B software-as-a-service product to help people make data-driven product decisions.

We are looking for enthusiastic folk who want to get stuck in, be an early employee of a new technology business and see a business grow from the ground up.

There’s a ton of opportunities to progress into other sales or marketing roles within the company. We’ll help you find what you’re really interested in and give you great training and support.

To start with, the job role involves web-based research to find suitable companies for the sales team to contact. You’ll also be writing targeted, outbound emails and starting to build relationships with potential customers.
